Whey Protein Normally derived from cows

The popularity of whey protein powders has gone through the roof in the last couple of years due to the popularity of weight training and mixed martial arts and low carb diets. Whey protein is a mixture of gobular proteins isolated from the by product of cheese making.

Whey protein is known to have anti inflammatorabilities after numeorus tests on rodents.

Whey is a source of branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) which are used to fuel working muscles and stimulate protein synthesis which is ideal for building muscle as it is used directlty to repair muscle after a strenuous workout.

People must be careful though due to the nature of processing at high heat whey is often denatured and so vital nutrients are often missing but as a meal replacement and if you are following a low glycmic diet with minimum impact on insulin whey is often seen as an ideal diet food.
