Vitamin D Flu Prevention

by buzzing health on December 18, 2009

Vitamin-DVitamin D has been getting tremendous press recently due to its ability to prevent seasonal depression and boost the immune system.

The body normally produces vitamin D after sun exposure and this in turn helps the body build strong bones particularly in those who have weak bones and immunity to cold and flu.

So by taking vitamin D2 particularly if your dark skinned as the darker the skin the less vitamin D that is taken in you will be striding ahead of the pack in the winter and feel less lethargic and depressed. Other things you can do to boost vitamin D is install some UVB lamps which trick the body into thinking you have had sun exposure and therefore naturally produce vitamin D form food.
